Playgoers have been making theatre in and around Dartington for over 70 years.

 

We are an amateur theatre company with about 70 to 80 members - our youngest is 15, and our oldest acting member is over 80.  While many people come to us from the Dartington or Totnes area, we also have actors, directors, prop makers and technicians living in Plymouth, Torquay, Newton Abbot, Teignmouth and beyond. 

 

We try to programme plays which stretch our company theatrically, welcome new talent and help us to sustain, build and engage our audiences.

 

We hold auditions for all our productions, whether full-blown shows or informal readings. These are open to everyone and we welcome people coming to theatre for the first time, or returning to it.

Each director auditions their show differently – some with workshops or some with readings of the play.  There will usually be more than one opportunity to attend an audition.
